It’s no easy feat to survive in the food and hospitality industry and to do it, it for 22 long years with the quality of service and taste of food intact, winning hearts every day is something that needs celebrating.
This is indeed the reason that Raffles opened their doors in welcome to valued clients, friends and media hosting them at a cocktail on the 28th of January 2018 in the Grand Ballroom of the Raffles Residence, their very own two banquet venue situated in the heart of Nugegoda.
Since it’s inception in 1999 to date Raffles has grown bigger and better, winning the hearts of many and is regarded as one of the top caterers in the Colombo catering circles. One secret of this achievement may be the fact that their top management comprises entirely of Chefs led by Tony Bohoran a Chef and a food stylist par excellence while the operation is well looked after by Chef Mohan De Silva, Chef Shan Nawz and Executive Chef, Chef Prashan Kumar.
Celebrating their anniversary in December, this year the celebrations were delayed by one month to coincide with the launch of ‘Tony’s Cook book’, a collection of recipes created and compiled by Tony Bohoran himself. Tony Bohoran is a chef with over 35 years of experience, who over the years has taught and polished many young chefs to perfection. He had also operated his own cookery school which he later had been compelled to close owing to his very busy schedule.
‘Tony’s Cookbook’ as per Tony Bohoran is his way of giving back to society his experiences, his passion as a chef, and his way of saying ‘Thank You’ to everyone who has supported him in his journey. To anyone who wishes to purchase this book Tony wishes to inform that they can cook any of these recipes without any fear as they are all tried, tested and tasted.
As the Managing Director of Raffles who is well supported by a director board which comprises of three Directors, Oscar Wanigasekara, Mohan De Silva and Shan Nawaz, Tony says it is his wish to take Raffles in to many diversified food and beverage angles that will not only make Raffles proud but Mother Sri Lanka as well.
